01/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bolo came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Bolo came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Bolo was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Bolo was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Bolo appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Bolo greets with a tense body and high tail. He is primarily sexually motivated and spents most of the time marking the yard.
