08/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bobo previously lived with adults and a 6 year old child. The owner stated Bobo is friendly and relaxed around strangers, adults and children. The owner mentioned Bobo lived with another dog and was described as relaxed and plays gently towards him. The owner describes Bobo as friendly, affectionate, and mellow. It was reported by the owner Bobo is house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Bobo was calm and allowed all handling. During SAFER Bobo came into the assessment room fearful and tense with his tail tucked, he was not interested with the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Bobo bared his teeth with stiff body posture at the assessor when attempting to pet him with a slow approach. He displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Bobo is a bit nervous as he greets with a tucked tail and low body. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen displaying soft body language.
