Bobby may do best with a slow/soft approach as well as being able to interact at his own pace. PLAYGROUP: Bobby’s previous owner reported that he has no experience with other dogs. When off leash at the Care Center, Bobby is nervous, with a tucked tail, lowered head and constantly lip-licking while avoiding the female helper dog. He paces around the pen keeping his distance. When the other dog begins to speed up and “chase” Bobby, he turns his head, gives an appropriate warning- low growl and lip curl. IN SHELTER BEHAVIOR: 11/05/16: It’s been reported to the Behavior Department that Bobby has shown concerning behavior; baring his teeth, and biting the rope, when the staff is attempting to remove him from his kennel. He is not an appropriate candidate for adoptions due to safety concerns and placement should be sought as soon as possible to limit continued stress for Bobby. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced Adult Home Only _X_No children (under 13)(See known history/bite history) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Bobby has displayed fearful behavior in shelter, he has been observed to increase distance/avoid especially when startled.
