Bo allowed me to pet him along his back area and head without any sign’s of discomfort. Bo’s body posture was very relaxed throughout our interaction, Bo even walks calm on the leash, walking right by my side. Bo jumped into my vehicle on his own.
04/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Staff asked me if I had met the gorgeous Golden Retriever mix, and I made Bo my next stop! He’s a big boy, and while age and some skin issues have left their mark, he’s gorgeous, and it’s easy to see how stunning he was in his younger days. Quietly waiting in his kennel, he’s leashed easily, steps out gently and off we go. Likely housetrained, he uses the facilities as soon as we’re out the door, and we take a short walk around the block. Bo walks beautifully on leash, but every once is a while he does a little stumble, but so little that you have to be paying attention to notice it. He continues like it never happened. Off leash in a pen, he picked up a tennis ball immediately, and played a short game of fetch. I can take the ball right out of Bo’s mouth for another easy throw. Bo sits when asked, although with a bit of difficulty, takes treats gently and loves being petted, leaning in for closer contact. Even our intake staff commented that he’s “very friendly, leans against the handler and asks for attention”. Bo is a “senior” and deserves to spend his retirement encircled in the warmth of his family, relaxing on a soft bed and having his every need met with love. He’s gentle, soft and easy, and the unconditional love he’ll offer in return cannot be measured. How big is your heart? 04/22/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
