I am a male black and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 01/05/2016 from NY 11206, owner surrender reason stated was NYCHA BAN.

01/13/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 53.9 LBS.
VC: Recheck stool, take off I/d is ok S/O: BARH. No ocular discharge, serous nasal discharge. Productive hacking cough. Small abrasion on nose from bumping kennel door. NO stool for observation in kennel. Instructed ACO to mix half I/d half regular food today to transitio off sensitive stomach diet A: CIRDC, superficial nose abrasion P: Move to ISO, start 10d doxycycline. Nose abrasion is self-limiting and should resolve w/o treatment.

01/05/16 15:334 Basic Information: Blue Styles is a year and 6 month unaltered male American Pit-Bull. He was given as a gift when he was 6 months old. Owner surrenders Blue due to NYCHA BAN. Social Life and Personality: Blue Styles lived with two adults and been around children ages 5 and 6 years old. Owner stated Blue Styles is relaxed and playful towards everyone he meets. Blue Styles never interacted with dogs but lunges after cats owner stated. He’s mostly indoors and activity level is to a medium. Owner describes Blue Styles as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, fearful, anxious, mellow and friendly. Behavior: Blue Styles never bitten anyone owner stated. He’s friendly when you touch his food bowl and takes food/treats away from his mouth. He isn’t bothered by taking baths and isn’t bothered by being brushed. He barks when unfamiliar approaches the house or family member. For a New Family to Know: Blue Styles is partially house trained and use the bathroom indoors and outdoors. She doesn’t know much of commands owner stated. Blue Styles likes to play with balls and squeaky. He like to follow owner around the house and well behaved around the house. He eat dry food twice a day and likes to sleep in the kitchen. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Blue Styles was loose body but barked very loud when he heard noise. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Blue Styles previously lived with two adults and has been around children ages 5 and 6 years old. The owner stated Blue Styles is relaxed and playful towards everyone he meets. The owner mentioned Blue lunges after cats. It was reported by the owner Blue is partially house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. The owner describes Blue Styles as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, fearful, anxious, mellow and friendly. At intake it was reported Blue Styles was loose and wiggly, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Blue Styles came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Blue was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Blue was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Blue Styles appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Blue Styles greets appropriately but becomes overwhelmed when being solicited for play.

When off leash with other dogs, Blue Styles greets with a lot of energy but with appropriate body posturing. Once introduced he is polite and bouncy during play but gets a little overwhelmed by a dog that is equally highly energetic and responds by lowering his body and avoiding physical interaction. 1/7 update: Blue Styles greets appropriately but becomes overwhelmed when being solicited for play.
