MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
10/13/2016 Exam Type BEHAVIORPART2 – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NH ONLY, Weight 80.0 LBS.
RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_No children (under 13) (See known history/potential challenges) _X_Place with a New Hope partner (Due to his previous history along with in shelter observations, Blue would benefit best from being placed with a New Hope rescue at this time which can provide an experienced foster who can further assess behavior in a stable home environment after a proper period of decompression. Force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing/exposing Blue to new and unfamiliar situations. Consultation with a professional trainer/behaviorist is highly recommended.) Potential challenges: _X_House soiling _X_Basic manners/Poor impulse control (It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training is recommended.) _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Blue’s previous history reports that while he has been living outside for the majority of his life, he has had no socialization with humans/animals whatsoever. Blue has displayed no social behavior during his stay in our care centers and actively avoids any form of human interaction/engagement. Blue displays all appropriate warning signals upon direct contact and will require safe/appropriate management.) _X_Resource guarding (Blue has been observed to become stiff upon approach when food items are in his possession; We cannot be certain whether any guarding or possessive behavior may appear in a home environment, but we recommend adopters comfortable with safe management and modification of guarding behavior in case it does.)
