08/13/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
8/13/16 16:40 Basic information: A1085243 Blue and A1085281 Precious were both brought in as owner surrenders. Blue and Precious were both born in the home (blue is the father of Precious). The owner surrendered Blue and Precious because the owner no longer has time to care for them. Both Blue and Precious never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Blue and Precious are both friendly and playful. Blue and Precious have not lived with children but they are relaxed and playful around children and adults they do not know. Blue and Precious have lived together all their lives and play very well with each other and other dogs outside. Blue and Precious have never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Blue and Precious are not bothered when some moves their food or treats while they are eating, when someone takes their toys away or when someone disturbs them while sleeping. They both like to be brushed and given bathes but have never had their nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home they approach them in a friendly manor. The owner does not know how Blue and Precious are around loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Blue and Precious as friendly, affectionate and playful with medium activity levels. Their favorite activity is to play fetch with the owner. In the home Blue and Precious tend to follow the owner around the house and are kept mainly indoors. Blue and Precious sleep in the floor of the bedroom on a dog bed. They were fed Pedigree dry and wet dog food three times a day. They are somewhat house trained (they do have accidents in the home if not walked), when outside they go to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Blue and Precious knows the commands “sit “and “Come”. For exercise they are used to brisk walks on the leash and twice a day and does they do pull on the leash. Behavior during intake: Blue and Precious were relaxed with lose body, they both allowed us to scan (both -), collared and placed in dog kennel.
08/20/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Blue is VERY often on a walk with a volunteer. I love to see the pair, him, leaving for the park with a wiggly butt, tail up and happy and she(or he) coming back with a wide smile. A good time they had as Blue is really a very nice, sociable and friendly dog. He was nervous when he came in and his kennel is not his cup of tea but he makes the best with what he has now. He is a smart pooch. Blue came to us with Precious, his housemate, as their owner was no longer able to care for them. He comes with excellent words and we believe that Blue would make an excellent, active, intelligent and loving companion. He has been beautifully cared for and looks like he is coming from a grooming salon..I do not think there is a need to add that he is as cute a button… Blue is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting for you and dreaming to start his life again at 10!!! It is never too late for love and fun….
