A Little Bit About Me…

A volunteer writes: Sitting quietly in his cage waiting for his turn for a walk, Blu looks up at me like a favorite worn teddy bear with big wide button eyes. He couldn’t be happier that I’ve chosen him and quickly jumps at the invitation. A passing volunteer tells me how cute he is and a staff member remarks on his excellent behavior in playgroup. I’m happy to hear he’s making friends. His graying muzzle is an easy tip-off that he’s no spring chicken, and yes, like many of us, he’s a bit chunky around the middle, but he surprises me with his strong and sturdy gait as he happily pads his way down the sidewalk. He may not have had the easiest life so far, but he’s curious and upbeat, and shows an interest in everything he can see or smell. He enjoys my rubs on the head and readily gobbles treats out of my hand. Once at the park, I sit on a bench and pat the seat next to me. Up he jumps and proceeds to enjoy the view while panting and lying across my lap.
