02/08/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
Bleu A1064693 is a male gray & white Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Bully mix breed canine who was purchased from a breeder a a young pup and is being surrendered due to the owner moving to where large dogs aren’t allowed. Bleu’s last vet visit was in 2015 and he currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Bleu is shy for a few minutes around strangers. He’s spent time with a 6yr old since the age of 3 and is gentle. exuberant, relaxed & playful with them. Bleu would knock them down unintentionally when the child would attempt to engage him & a Shih Tzu (Bleu’s “brother”) during playtime. When Bleu spots a cat he continously barks and lunges towards them. Bleu has never bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Bleu will chew on walls if left alone. He isn’t bothered by the following: fireworks/storms, having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved (the 6yr old can hand feed him from his bowl), being moved off of furniture, bathtime, being brushed, having his nails trimmed or being held/restrained. If someone unfamiliar approaches the home/family member Bleu will stand at attention & bark to then wait for his owner to tell him it’s ok. For a New Family to Know: Bleu is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable, independent & anxious (when left alone) with a medium-high activity level. The owner stated “just look at him” when asked what she loves about Bleu. Bleu enjoys running, playing & digging in the yard. He will scratch at the door to let you know when he wants back into the home. Bleu loves rope & kong toys/treats but has chewed/destroyed them (he’s a “chewer”). He’s an indoor/outdoor dog who sleeps on a dog bed in his own room. Bleu eats Beneful wet & dry dog food 2x a day & loves rawhides. He’s very house broken and is well behaved when left alone (he’s secluded to a room that has his crate blocking the doorway). When left alone in the yard he’ll dig. Bleu’s known commands are “sit” & “lay down”. Bleu is walked 2-3x a day where he pulls hard on the leash. Intake Behavior: Bleu appeared nervous at first and was barking and looking to his owner perhaps for reassurance. He had a loose wiggly body & allowed to be scanned (-) and taken pictures of. Bleu was given treats which he took gently but wouldn’t allow me to collar him which his owner then assisted with. Bleu walked alongside one of our drivers and needed some coaxing to get into the transport van.
