12/10/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/10/16 19:48 When Blazze was younger, he didn’t get along well with other dogs (no further details available), so they didn’t take him out in public. One year ago, they began walking him. He stands tall with his head low and growls when he sees other dogs. His owners tell him let’s go, keep a distance, and walk or jog by the dog quickly to prevent him from reacting. 1 year ago, he had passed a medium-sized dog with his owner when he lunged back and grabbed the dog’s ear. His owner pulled him off and there was no broken skin. On another occasion, he was passing a small dog when he lunged, grabbed the dog, and shook him/her in his mouth. He released on his own and the dog seemed unharmed without broken skin. Blazze tries to chase cats. BEHAVIOR Blazze doesn’t mind storms. He is restless and whines in the car. He growls if someone approaches his food bowl, a treat, people-food, a bone, etc., and will bite if they try to take it from them. He doesn’t have interest in toys. He doesn’t mind if someone moves him off furniture or wakes him up. He struggles and tries to run away when held/restrained. He tries to flee during baths. He usually enjoys being brushed and comes to his owner to be brushed. Once he’s been brushed for a while, he sometimes walks away. He is friendly with strangers who approach his home/family. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Blazze’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, excitable, and high energy. He follows his family and plays chase. In the past, he lived outside during warm weather and inside during cold weather. This year, he’s staying outside due to his behavior. He sleeps on furniture inside or in and outdoor shelter outside. He eats dry Kirkland food with wet food as a treat. He was housetrained over the past year. He goes to the door to go outside and potties on any surface outside. He doesn’t have accidents inside. While left alone inside, he has lightly chewed a basket and a purse and scattered the contents. He will run out the front door if he has the opportunity. He would grab fallen food and take food from the counters, so his family keeps the kitchen door shut.He was left alone in a yard with a 7′ fence made of both bars and metal sheets (he couldn’t see through it), and he was well-behaved. He sits, comes, and goes “out of the kitchen,” when asked. He’s learning to lie down when asked. He went for brisk walks and jogs and pulled on the leash.
