I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 03/04/2016 from NY 10472, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.

03/04/16 10:37HRS Blake has been cared for by his owner for the past 7 years. He is described as affectionate, playful and reserved. He enjoys the attention from his family. When Blake meets new people, he will bark at them initially until he allowed to approach them and sniff them. Blake has been introduced to children in the owner’s home but isn’t allowed to interact with them. His owner stated that Blake was traumatized by children in his first home so the owner feared how he would behave with other children. He has interacted with female a shih-Tzu in the home and they play well together, normally chasing each other around. When Blake notices other dogs outside, he will stare at them quietly while wagging his tail. BEHAVIOR Blake allows his owner to approach him and touch him while he is eating. When he is bathed at home, he will repeatedly try to jump out of the tub. When his owner’s says “bath”, he will bark continuously because he knows it is time for him to be bathed. Blake is professionally groomed 1x a month. He enjoys being petted, brushed and having his paws and legs massaged. Blake would let his owner know that he wants attention by setting his head on his owner’s feet. He will bark at the door bell when it rings or if someone stands outside the front door. Blake will greet familiar guest with his toy harmonica in his mouth while wagging his tail. When unfamiliar visitors enter the home he will bark at them while jumping up and down. His owner would advise the guest to ignore him and once he is ready he will approach them, sniff them and then lie down at the guest feet to be petted. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Blake understands “sit” “relax” and “down.” Blake likes to play with squeaky toys and chew rawhide bone. Blake uses the wee wee pad in the home normally. He is accustomed to being walked 2x a day on leash. He is well behaved when he is left alone and he is allowed to roam freely in the home. Blake eats dry and wet Pedigree, Blue Ribbon and Rachael Ray Nutrish. Blake eats cucumber’s and carrots, pizza crust as reward treats. DURING INTAKE Blake would pant continuosly while seated near his owner. He allowe the Admissions Counselor to approach him but would stiffen his body and look away when touched. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photogrpahed.
