07/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Black Bean came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He has been interactive and easy to handle since intake. He is energetic when brought into the behavior room, constantly moving. He approaches readily but does not like to be restrained by the collar, trying consistently to wiggle out of position, though he shows no aggression. Black Bean is mouthy, frequently mouthing the assessor’s hands throughout the assessment, but he applies only minimal pressure. He grabbed the toy and immediately approached the Assessor to play, relinquishing when the assessor reached for it. Black Bean is a high-energy young dog who will need a considerable amount of mental and physical exercise every day. He will also likely benefit from reward-based training, and will need guidance to learn how to appropriately direct his energy. We recommend an experienced adopter for Black Bean. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog is active and focused on the Assessor and all other stimuli available. His body is soft, likely panting, likely to display high movement between attempts. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog quickly pulls back. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog is soft in body and eye, and moves his legs/body so that the Assessor is unable to hold the paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Black Bean is a bit nervous when greeter a larger dog. He wanders in the pen and mostly keeps to himself. He is sensitive when is behind is being sniffed, spinning it away from the other dog.
07/14/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
