A volunteer writes:

It is not often that I can recognize a breed but this time , I did. A Harrier!!! One lived next to me for many years  and used to chase hares running through our yards… He was such a great, friendly and loving dog.. Our Harrier is a girl, Biscuit, may be named after the famous racing horse. Harriers are great runners. They certainly have the legs for it, the pointy muzzle and the trim body allowing them to dash through the fields. We do not know much about Biscuit beside the fact that she has been beautifully cared for and looks mighty healthy. She is elegant, her face is sprinkled with silver, her eyes  shine and she owns a gentle smile. She carries herself like a dancing horse. She heels perfectly and does her business in one stop. What a dream to walk her through the park. Biscuit is a bit shy, lost. She is middle aged, was a pampered family dog and now.. a kennel, a huge place, so many people she never saw and nothing, nobody who made her life whole is there for her..Still, she accepts my caresses, listens to my orders and tries to reenact all what she learned in her past life… Biscuit opened up a little more at our second walk. She sat very close to me, looked at me with complicity and rested her body against mine like she was my dog…Biscuit is a lovely gal, quite beautiful, well mannered and loving. Although she is calm, i think she would make a wonderful jogging partner if given the opportunity. Come and meet Biscuit at the Manhattan Care Center. She is a most delicious girl and so would love to be your friend, for ever.
