Medical Summary Sex: Male neutered Scan: Positive Estimated age: 1 year and 2 months as per ACC/previous owner Fleas: No flea dirt. Hx: Reported to be not eating for 4-5 days prior to surrender. S: Alert, energetic, playful, sniffs and jumps up on examiner. Allows full exam. O: BAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist, CRT <2 sec EENT: Moderate waxy brown discharge AU. No discharge OU, nose. Clean teeth. PLNs: Not enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted. UG: Male neutered Offered pt a can of wet food after exam – pt inhaled the entire can. When my hand got hear the bowl of food, pt growled and kept eating. A: 1. Waxy brown discharge AU 2. Hx anorexia x4-5 days, but ate food after exam – R/O not actually inappetent vs. true anorexia: gastroenteritis, stress, metabolic disease, other Short-term prognosis: Good P: 1. Administered PetArmor 23-44 lb and pyrantel 3 ml during exam 2. Cleaned ears during exam 3. Monitor appetite – if pt still not eating in 1-2 days, rec CBC/chem to look for underlying problems 1088
