01/26/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/26/16 14:44 Bingo is a geriatric male Boxer / Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. He was found in a park 1 week ago. His finder reports that he was friendly, mellow, affectionate, and tolerant with him, his 12 year old daughter, his cat, dogs he met outside, and strangers. He was tolerant and well-behaved while he gave him baths. Bingo seemed housetrained and went potty on walks but did have a few accidents (#1) inside. Bingo has pink, irritated skin on his neck, back, underside, and rear. His finder reports that he has strong-smelling urine. Bingo approached us with a soft, relaxed body and maintained this while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and positioned him for pictures. He sat when asked and caught treats. He very gently stood up and leaned against me while I pet him. He walked nicely on his leash. While I worked at the computer, he sat against my feet quietly.
01/29/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I so feel for Bingo, an elderly gentleman who did not enjoy the best care. He is calm and collected in his kennel, hoping that a volunteer will see the sign on his door: housetrained, please, take me out. Indeed, Bingo does his business as soon as he hits the street or the yard. No marking involved. He walks quite nicely on the leash and manages very well the stairs. Dogs are met on the way and although Bingo was a little uncomfortable with his peers in a playgroup, we encountered no issue nearing them. Bingo is quite hungry but with proper feeding, his craving for food did lessen. He can sit–and even stands briefly on his hinds–for treats. He is a low key kind of guy, going with the flow, who likes to be caressed and enjoys gentle words. Bingo is really cute and innocent looking. His adorable snowy face with very dark eyes and nose give him quite a young look. Bingo was found abandoned in a park and stayed a few days with his finder who describes him as affectionate, mellow and nice with his 12 year old daughter and… cat. Bingo did quite well on his behavioral evaluation, is neutered and ready to go. He is not at all after winning a million, but dreaming of a safe, caring and loving home. Will you open your door and your heart to a good ol’ boy ?
01/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bingo walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Bingo was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He took the toy away with a soft body language. Bingo was found in a park 1 week ago. His finder reports that he was friendly, mellow, affectionate, and tolerant with him, his 12 year old daughter, his cat, dogs he met outside, and strangers”. Bingo did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Bingo greets with a tense body. When the female greeter dog approaches face-to-face, he offers a low growl. When re-approached, Bingo corrects a second, lingering greeting.
01/27/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Bingo is uncomfortable interacting and lacks social skills. He is often tense and may assert himself over the other dog. He entered the care center as a stray, so his in-home behaviors with other dogs are unknown. Based on these observations the behavior department recommends Bingo does not go to a home with other dogs. When off leash with other dogs, Bingo greets with a tense body. When the female greeter dog approaches face-to-face, he offers a low growl. When re-approached, Bingo corrects a second, lingering greeting. 1/28 update: Bingo greets well and is more comfortable when approached. He will bound after the other dog when she begins to run through the pen but then vocalizes when he catches up with her.
