WEB MEMO

A volunteer writes:
If you’ve seen the movie Inside Out you’ll know exactly why Bing Bong was named for the main character’s cuddly imaginary friend; he’s an adorably chunky lug who shares his namesake’s lovable nature and innocent, upbeat attitude but unlike the imaginary Bing Bong, this gorgeous boy is as real as it gets! Found tied up with his little sister Kimmie, BB’s great at meeting and greeting new human and doggie pals alike, walks nicely for his size, never guards his toys, sits like a champ for treats and mouths them gently too. He’s not too happy about being cooped up in a kennel but keeps a clean and tidy den and seems to be quite house trained, waiting patiently until we hit the street to do all his business. A gentle yet energetic giant with the smarts and good manners to pass his behavior assessment with flying colors, BB is ready to fill his new home with smiles and love. You’ll never outgrow him and he’ll always be by your side, playing, snuggling and snortling his way through a lifetime of happy family memories.

05/03/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: None 5/1/17 Unaltered Male, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 5/2/17 Look: 1. Dog jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, closed mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. Minimal interest, dog takes toy then drops and loses interest. Summary: Bing Bong was social throughout his assessment and displayed no concerning behaviors. DOG-DOG: When introduced on leash to a female dog at the care center, Bing Bong was not reactive. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/2/17 During his initial medical exam, Bing Bong was active and social and allowed handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Bing Bong so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is an enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
