06/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bernie has tolerated minimal handling in the care center. He came in as a stray and showed no aggression toward his finders but appeared distressed by his injury. This distressed behavior has continued in the care center, escalating in some cases to growling and spinning. We cannot be certain how much of his behavior is a result of pain, but it is likely that his injury is influencing his behavior. Due to Bernie’s medical condition and overall distress level he is not a candidate for a SAFER aggression assessment at this time. We recommend placing Bernie with a New Hope partner who can address his medical condition and then re-evaluate behavior post-recovery.
