A volunteer writes:
What a cute little prince, a stray, mind you and he is such a sweetheart ! It is so  very hard for anybody to see what a great dog he is…Indeed, Berk has to wear an Elisabethan collar because of the bad ear infection he came in with…Having been allowed to let him cone-free in a pen, I enjoyed the very playful side of Berk…He loves treats, sits for them and is a great runner and jumper, catching and retrieving a ball without guarding it… I bet someone taught him when he was still a pet. Berk is quite young, only seven months of age. He is a bit thin but dressed impeccably in an elegant  suit. He pulls a bit on the leash and does his business on the way which does not guarantee at his age perfect housetraining. He seems to like other dogs very much, playbowing to some of them. Staff is most welcome too…He does well in playgroups with his peers. Berk is a very loving little boy who tries to come on my lap for hugs and kisses. The cone is in the way and makes things cumbersome. So, he resolves himself to put his head in my lap for caresses…Berk ‘s ear infection is getting better and I hope that soon enough he will be able to meet and greet and leave us for a wonderful new life…with you, as your forever best friend. Berk is at the Manhattan Care Center
BEHAVIOR:

When off leash with other dogs Berk is social and playful. He offers bows and engages in polite puppy play with the helper dog. He does attempt to mount once play ceases, but he responds well to correction.

Police stated dog was found on liberty and van wyck expressway.Dog was walking around loose. no further information was provided.

2/27 update:

Berk runs through the yard, occasionally stopping to bounce near the other dog. He greets a male well but tenses when introduced. He offers correction to him when jumped on then follows after he has walked away.
