A Little Bit About Me…

A volunteer writes:   Talk about a gentle giant!  Chill and mellow don’t begin to describe this gorgeous creature both in personality and physicality.   So easy on leash, pulling slightly from time to time, he pads along on his big gorgeous feet and I could feel the earth move with every step.  Going potty was a priority and then it was easy street for a short walk and then backyard time.  He seems to be looking for his person, or maybe a new one, as we walk, glancing up at all passersby.  Off leash in a pen he paced a while, stretching his handsome legs as he did laps.  He’s so graceful as he glides…..like watching a thoroughbred horse going through his paces.   Beowulf has a head like a bowling ball – big and round and jowly and I loved teasing him about it – all of which he took in good stride.  He comes when called, leans in for petting, and wasn’t interested in either of my treats.  He was brought to our care by someone who found him and tells us that Beowulf is super mellow and thinks he’s a lap dog!  Later in the day when staff let him hang out in a room with them he recognized me when I came in, coming right over to greet me with a sweet hello and even a soft kiss.   Look up some words in the dictionary, such as, gentle, sweet, easy, mellow, chill and they will all have the same definition:   Beowulf at Manhattan Care Center.

Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
