Benji was a gift to the owner from the previous owner over a year ago. Benji has not been to a veterinarian in about a year. SOCIALIZATION Benji is friendly around strangers. He plays gentle with adults and kids alike. Benji has not lived with another dog. Benji has never bitten anyone. BEHAVIOR Benji does not have any behavior issues. He allows you to take away his food bowl, water bowl or toy away. Benji allows you to bathe him. If an unfamiliar approaches the owner or the doorway, he barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Benji is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. At home he follows you around. He loves to play with balls. He has been kept mostly indoors. He sleeps on a doggy bed. He is fed Pedigree dry dog food. Benji is house trained, and goes anywhere outside. For exercise he is walked on the leash, and off the leash. He listens to the command sit. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Benji allowed all handling, collaring and photos.

Benji walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Benji was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He took the toy away with a soft body language. Benji was surrender to us. According to his previous owner he is friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. At home he follows you around. He loves to play with balls. Benji is friendly around strangers. He plays gentle with adults and kids. He has not lived with another dog. He allows you to take away his food bowl, water bowl or toy away”. Benji did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor.
