Summary:: Bella came into the assessment room timid with a low body posture, she was social towards the handlers with a slow approach and coaxing.
Summary (1):: Bella is calm around other dogs, but chooses not to socialize with them. She mostly keeps to herself; lip curling when another dog sniffs her genitals. According to Bella’s previous owner, Bella did not socialize with other dogs while in their care. The Behavior Department believes that Belle would be most comfortable as the only dog. Any resident dogs should be polite and respectful. All introductions should be conducted slowly and be under supervision. 2/20: When off leash at the Care Centers, Bella is nervous-displaying a low body and raised hackles. She tolerates a brief muzzle greet but quickly moves away from a rear sniff. When the greeter dog re-attempts to sniff her genital region, she offers him a quick muzzle punch, then lip curls. The greeter is moved away, and she explores the pens, keeping to herself. 2/21-26: In a group of calm male and female dogs, Bella keeps to herself while slowly exploring the pens. She becomes slightly assertive when a nervous male dog greets her.
