10/13/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: This beautiful boy is very clearly a chocolate lab mix, full of energy, licks for everyone, and puppy love (although he’s a big one, this sweetheart is most definitely still a puppy!). Belarus loves to play and run, gets very excited about other dogs, and loves to cuddle. He is a huge ball of joy and smiles, eager to try to get into the lap of anyone who will give him a scratch behind the ears (I don’t think he quite realizes how big he is!). Belarus is eager to please and loves treats, but will need a bit of basic puppy training to figure out how to walk on a leash without pulling. He would do wonderfully with an active adopter who will make sure to get Belarus the exercise he needs and the cuddles he adores.

10/09/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Belarus was brought in as a stray so his behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash at the Care Center, Belarus was initially sexually motivated. With further playgroup sessions he is able to solicit and engages in gentle play with female dogs. When introduced to a playful neutered male, Belarus becomes nervous and hides behind the handlers. The Behavior Department believes that Belarus would be most comfortable with a female dog that matches his gentle play style, however a dog-dog interaction can be conducted with a potential adopter’s dog, male or female. 10/9: Belarus approaches the helper dog and immediately begins salivating and directing his attention towards her rear end. His sexual motivation does not progress to mounting and he is able to be interrupted by the handlers. 10/13: Belarus displays bouncy body language as he socializes with a female dog. He is slightly sexually motivated but is able to listen to handler interruption and solicit gentle play. When introduced to a playful neutered male, Belarus becomes nervous and hides behind the handlers.
