A volunteer writes:  “Roll Over Beethoven” – and I’m giving away my age by singing that song to our Beethoven….sung by both The Beatles and Chuck Berry (who wrote it); the intent was moving classical music to the back burner to make room for more contemporary music.   For our pup, maybe it means he’ll learn to roll over?   A project for his new person!  B (for short) is a bit nervous in this new and strange environment and takes a little while to warm up to a new person.  He seems to be housetrained, is good on leash, his coat gleams with good care, and he’s sweet and gentle.  B explored our pen, came when I called him, and followed me around the pen as I paced and called him to follow.   Every once in a while his tail would wag as he got into the game.  When B finally joined me on the bench and gave me a little kiss I knew we’d be good friends.  Like the Little Engine That Could, B is figuring it all out and learning about this strange new place in his life.  Give him a little time to trust and feel safe, and little B is going to be the best friend ever.  He’s hoping that the next patient and loving person who walks in the door will be coming for him.  I hope so too.

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
