PROFILE :
Bear is a 12 year old Neutered Beagle mix that was surrendered to us due to personal reasons. His only medical condition is that a blood test showed elevated liver function but was not followed up on due to the veterniarian believing it was due to age.
Around strangers and family Bear is very outgoing and friendly, he has been around children ranging from 1 year to 11 years old and gets along with the kids and and plays gentle with the younger kids. He does not have any incidents of biting anyone.
The owner attempted to rehouse him and he had a few poop accidents in the home. As per the owner he has only pooped in the house during lightning, storms and fireworks. When not home Bear will stay in a cage and does not have accidents and will wait to be let out before going to the bathroom.
Around other dogs he is good, he generally wont play with them but is not bothered about it. He was reported to have been around cats and is not bothered by the cats either.
The owner reported that Bear got a piece of human food out of the garbage and when she attempted to take it away he did attempt to snap before settling. The owner did not attempt to take away his dog food or treats so his behavior as far as that is unknown.
The owner described him as a friendly dog with a low activity level. The owners favorite things about Bear is that he is very gentle and a great companion to her family.
