A volunteer writes: “It’s my chunky friend Beans”, a staffer called out when she saw us together. And indeed, Beans is a gorgeous, chunky boy who prior to his reincarnation as a dog, was the starring quarterback on his college football team! He’s an awesome dog in his shiny tan coat, likely housetrained using the ‘facilities’ outside immediately and often. He’d been holding it a long time! Beans pulls on the leash so will benefit from some leash training and/or a harness to make it a nicer walk for both ends of the leash. Off leash he stood by me while I took some notes, and valiantly tried to climb up on the bench to sit beside me when I invited him. He’s too short, or the bench is too high and I tried really hard not to laugh! As Beans explores the pen his tail wags gently and I can see him processing information in his head as he tries to figure out where his people are and where he is. He’s a quiet and gentle boy, clearly fed with love before joining us. I enjoyed my time with this soft easy dog…..you will too, come meet him today.
