Bark Wahlberg
Hello, my name is Bark Wahlberg . My animal id is #15721. I am a male black dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 08-Dec-2017.
Bark Wahlberg is at risk due being diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex which is contagious to other dogs. He will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no behavior concerns for bark Wahlberg at this time, average determination.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: Bark Wahlberg! That’s funny, love this name. And so appropriate, as Bark has leading man good looks, a curiosity and interest in everything going on around him, and at one point just sat and looked at his reflection in a glass door, noticing that he’s the handsomest dog around! No offense, Mark! Bark already has his volunteer fans as he’s so good looking, and it’s so obvious when he’s in his kennel that he’d love a walk, a chance to go potty and the opportunity to add another person to his growing fan club. Bark does nicely on leash, although when a squirrel or bird crosses our path, he does want to give chase. Squirrel-1, Bark -0! Bark knows ‘sit’ with some coaxing, takes treats gently, gets bouncy from time to time as we get comfortable with each other, and comes in my lap for some hugs and kisses. He’s a compact little guy in a clean shiny coat, a perfect weight and a fun, friendly and dynamic personality. Bark has enjoyed a couple of romps with females in playgroup, and as of this writing, has not yet been with males. Bark is ready to play the leading man in your life, and with a short script (structure) of what’s expected of him, is going to shine as the star he is. Ask to meet him when you visit.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Bark Wahlberg so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: Bark Wahlberg consistently displays highly social behavior with his human caretakers outside of his kennel. He maintains a loose wiggly body throughout interactions and solicits attention from handlers.
