09/14/17 19:25 Banks is a large black dog that is possibly 2 years old. The Finder noticed the dog tied up to a fence. Finder has no luck finding the owner and kept the dog for 3 days. The finder kept the dog in a bedroom tied up and fed him pedigree dry dog food. Banks was very friendly and playful. He jumped up and greeted the family and enjoy being petted. He was walked twice a day. Banks during intake jumped up and greet counselor. He was jumpy and high energy. He was friendly and allowed to be collard, scanned and photographed.

KNOWN HISTORY: Limited profile 9/14/17 Unaltered Male, Stray (Three days in the finder home) Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward strangers: Friendly and playful Energy level/descriptors: Other notes: SAFER ASSESSMENT: 9/16/17 Look:1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Summary: Banks was friendly and playful towards the assessor. PLAYGROUP: When off leash at the Care Center, Banks displays sexually motivated behavior and engages in cooperative play with both male and female dogs. He listens to handler interruptions, and explores the pens. Banks finder only kept him for three days so his previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department recommends that Banks be placed in a home with resident dogs that match his gentle play style and is tolerant of his sexually motivated behavior. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 9/14/17: Upon intake Banks was friendly, jumpy with high energy level. He allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 9/15/17: During his medical examination, Banks was very sweet and allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Banks so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
