08/25/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/25/17 15:22 Bane is a four year old male tan and white large breed dog. He was surrendered to ACC when his owner passed and a neighbor who was caring for him no longer could keep him. Bane has spent time with adults and a seven year old child. Owner stated he is a super friendly dog but can engage in somewhat rough play and knock over the child and adults during play. Bane has not been around other pets. Bane was kept primarily in the yard. Bane is fed dry food twice a day; owner stated he is a picky eater and was fed house food by his previous owner. Bane does not mind when his food is touched while eating. Bane was walked twice a day, he is used to leashed walks and owner stated he pulls very hard. He loves to play with balls and chase them around the yard. Upon intake Bane had a loose body; he jumped on anyone who passed him. Bane knocked over a few staff members as they passed. He had his tail wagging and solicited attention. He licked counselors hand and rubbed his head against counselor’s legs. Bane was scanned (negative), collared and photographed. Bane allowed all handling; he pulled very hard on leash upon intake.
08/29/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Meet Bane: the big boy that is just as likely to sweep you off your feet as he is to literally knock you off them! His owner passed away and a neighbor caring for him could no longer keep him, so we are lucky enough to get to hang out with him while he’s between people. He is not 100% aware of his size and strength (or, let’s face it, maybe not even 50%!), but is at least 150% aware of his love for people: he is super friendly and full of tail wags and kisses to give! He seems housebroken, will need some work on his leash manners (or maybe a good harness) and does tend to jump up, but responds to “sit” (especially if you have a high value treat or tempting toy to offer him as a reward!). He loves to play fetch and is much easier to handle after he’s burned off some energy running around. He leans in when getting petted, topples over for belly rubs (and has the cutest speckled belly!) and is really just the sweetest bull in a china shop…he would love to meet you at Brooklyn ACC!
