07/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Baisley came into the shelter on the 7/23/16, so her past behaviors in the home are unknown. Behavior during Intake: Baisley was fearful, with her body tense her head low and her tail tucked. Baisley allowed all handling. During SAFER Baisley came into the assessment room calm and a bit fearful, she was tense during the look item. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Baisley snapped at the assessor on the sensitivity item; she displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior the behavior department feels that placement with a rescue that can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is tense and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 5. Dog snapped at the assessor. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-Dog: Baisley displays bouncy body language as she wanders in a group of male and female dogs. She is uncomfortable with high energy play and offers correction. She is slightly assertive, mounting male dogs, but listens to handler interruptions and continues to wander in the pen.
