DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: 6-8 years; Microchip noted on Intake? No; History : owner surrender. Blood noted all over his cage; Subjective: QAR to BARH. No csvd.; Observed Behavior – Timid, but allows all handling; Objective ; P = 120bpm; R = wnl; BCS 6/9; EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: muzzled- not performed; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: Grade II heart murmur ausculted; Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: Intact male with two descended testicles, ~0.5.cm in diameter lobulated mass noted on scrotum, bleeds easily with manipulation; MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, see UG section, otherwise healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: normal externally; Assessment; 1) Heart Murmur- r/o underlying heart disease vs physiologic (DRVOTO); 2) Small mass on scrotum- likely benign skin mass, but cannot r/o malignant; Prognosis: fair ; Plan: – Start Clavamox 13.75mg/kg PO BID x 7 days- Administered 1ml lidocaine around mass. Cauterized mass with portable cautery pen. Scab formed, but will likely continue to bleed as the location of the mass is right in the path of the tail – Recommend NH placement: as should have mass removed when neutered to prevent further bleeding from occuring; SURGERY:Okay for surgery

How is this dog around strangers? Around strangers, animal is nervous for a few minutes at first.
Behavior Notes: Behavior during intake: Animal has a tense body, tail tucked during intake. Staff were able to put a leash on, scan for a microchip and take a picture without any issues.

Summary (1): Bailey was brought in as a stray so his behavior around other dogs is unknown.
6/4: When off leash at the Care Center, Bailey greets a novel female dog and quickly becomes sexually motivated- salivating while sniffing her rear. He does not mount but persistently follows her around the yard.
6/5: Today, Bailey manages his sexually motivated appropriately. He briefly sniffs the greeter’s genital region before moving away and investigating the pens.
