02/19/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
02/19/16 21:10 Basic Info: Baby Boy A1065579 is a 2yr old male white & brown AMPBT mix who was bred at home and is being surrendered along with his grandmother Suga Mama A1065577 due to the owner moving to where large dogs aren’t allowed. They were both last seen by a veterinarian in 2015 and currently have no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Baby Boy is shy for a few minutes. He’s lived with a 7yr old and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed, playful with them also the adults in the home, Suga Mama & two cats (they even slept, played & ate together). Baby Boy has never bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Baby Boy isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being brushed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. For bath time Baby Boy will jump into the tub. He hasn’t had his nails trimmed. If someone approaches the home/family member Baby Boy will bark, more so than Suga Mama. For A New Family to Know: Baby Boy is friendly (at times), affectionate, playful, confident, excitable & independent with a low activity level. The owner likes his “butterfly marking on the left side of his hindquarters. Baby Boy enjoys sleeping, squeaky toys and games of fetch, chase, wrestling & tug. Baby Boy is mostly an indoor only dog who sleeps anywhere & is walked 2-3x a day where he pulls lightly on his leash. Baby Boy eats wet & dry Gravy Train 2x a day and given Milk Bone dog treats. He will have accidents in the home if someone takes too long to take him out. When left home alone Baby Boy is well behaved and can stay in his crate “all day” (if need be: parties, if visitor(s) are afraid of him, etc). Intake Behavior: Baby Boy allowed minimal handling, he kept barking and wanting to get/keep away from the admissions counselor. He allowed to be scanned (-), the owner assisted with collaring, taking his pictures & placing him into the kennel.
02/27/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Hello new human, I am Baby Boy! I am very friendly and I am very bouncy and I am going to give you a hug now! What do you mean, ‘down’? I do not know this word but I can tell from your voice that it means I should stop so I will stop…no promises about 5 minutes from now, okay? Do you know where my Grandma, Suga Mama (A1065577), went? Or my two kitty siblings? Back when I lived in a home we all used to eat together and play together and even sleep together and I sure do miss them. But now you’re here, we can play again! I have A LOT of energy and really love to run around with toys or a ball or just a person, and even though it’s SO tempting to jump up and grab these exciting things I am trying hard to learn that is not a Good Dog thing to do. When I have to wait for a ball throw my twinkle toes just can’t keep still and I do a skittery foot-to-foot dance that makes the volunteers laugh and laugh. I like being the center of attention and being petted and made a fuss over and it seems to me that everyone else enjoys it too! If you offer me a treat (hint, hint) I can sit down before I lick it from your hand and if you take my food or toys away from me I am so cool with that I won’t even bark. And guess what else? I like being brushed and I will jump right into the tub before you can say ‘bath time!’ Don’t I sound like the kind of boy you’d want to have for your very own? I did real well on my behavior assessment and as long as you can keep up with me, I think we’d make a great team. So whaddaya say? Wanna be my Best Friend…Forever?
