went on she warmed up to the assessor and she allowed all handling.
DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT:
Summary
PLAYGROUP: 7/15: When off leash with another dog, Quantico is initially
uncomfortable then solicits play. She continues to engage in bouts of
jumpy play.
INTAKE BEHAVIOR: Upon intake, Quantico was a bit fearful at first but then warmed up
and allowed all handling.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/14/17 – During her initial medical exam, Quantico was tense at first but warmed up and allowed all handling.
ENERGY LEVEL: Quantico’s previous owner described her as having a medium level of
activity. She is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily
mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We
recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games,
in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy
and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (suitable for an adopter with some
previous dog experience, especially with behaviors outlined below)
Potential challenges:
_X_Fearful: Though observed to be human-social, Quantico may need time
to warm up to the handler as she sometimes initially presents as a
fearful dog, avoiding contact, shying away from direct touch. We
recommend allowing.
Quantico’s playgroup notes: 7/15: When off leash with another dog, Quantico is initially
uncomfortable then solicits play. She continues to engage in bouts of
jumpy play. 7/16: Quantico engages in bouncy play with female dogs.
