I am a male white and tricolor pbgv mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 5 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 02/03/2016 from NY 10470, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

2/3/16 19:13 Basic information: Babas is a 1 yr 5 month old PETIT BASSET GRIFFON VENDEEN mix. The Owner got him from a Breeder; he has owned Babas for over a year. The owner surrendered Babas because he is moving out of the country. Babas no health problems and has never been taken to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Babas is very fearful and does not like to interact people he does not know. Babas has with a one month child, he is relaxed around the child but may not be okay with children he does not know. Babas has never been around other animals so the owner has no idea how he would react. Babas has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Babas when some moves his food treats while she is eating or takes his toys away he will growl and snap at the person taking the items away from him. Babas has never been brushed, given bathes nor had his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member he approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner says that Babas is not bothered by loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Babas as affectionate and pushy with a high activity level. His favorite activity is to play walk with his owner. In the home Babas tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Babas sleeps in a crate in the bedroom. Babas was fed Pedigree dry dog food twice t a day. He is partially house trained and accidents in the home daily (anywhere in the house), and does not have much experience using the bathroom outside. Babas knows the command “sit “. For exercise Babas is used to brisk walks on the leash and once a day and pulls lightly on the leash. He has never been walked off the leash. Behavior during intake: Babas was very tense with stiff body, when approached by staff Babas growled and barked at the staff did not allow us to approach, owner was able to assist us, scanned (-), collared and placing in dog kennel.

Babas walk calmly on leash. He doesn’t want to approach to the assessor Babas became uncomfortable he stands tall; he raised his hackles, wrinkles his muzzle to expose his front teeth and growls. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Babas shows minimal interest he smell and lick the toy. Babas was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Babas around strangers is very fearful and does not like to interact people he does not know. Babas has with a one month child, he is relaxed around the child but may not be okay with children he does not know. Baba has never been around other animals the owner doesn’t know how he will react. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Sex: Male intact Scan: Negative Estimated age: 1/5 years old per previous owner Hx: Pt has never been to a vet before. S: Pt stressed and barks aggressively. Pt muzzled for vaccinations, although exam was not possible due to temperament – pt began jumping and alligator rolling as soon as I touched his ear. O: BAR-H, MMs pink EENT: Ear canal stenosis and pinna lichenification AU. No discharge OU, nose. Could not assess teeth PLNs: Did not assess due to pt stress and temperament H/L: No sign resp distress. Did not auscultate due to pt stress and temperament. Abd: Did not assess due to pt stress and temperament. M/S/I: Amb x4. Shaggy fur coat. UG: Male intact A: 1. Chronic otitis externa AU 2. Limited exam due to pt stress and temperament; other conditions may exist Short-term prognosis: Fair P: 1. Applied Activyl 44-88#, and put pyrantel 5.2 ml in food 2. Thorough veterinary exam, especially ears, recommended in future, once pt is acclimated to shelter environment 1088
