DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: ~4yrs; Microchip noted on Intake? No; History : Stray, suspect HBC; Subjective: QARH. Mucoid diarrhea, drinking water; Observed Behavior – Allows all handling, calm; Evidence of Trauma seen – Yes; Objective ; P = WNL R = WNL BCS 5/9; EENT: Eyes clear, cherry eye OU, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted; Oral Exam: Underbite, mild tartar; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: Female; MSI: Ambulatory x 4 but very weak in hind end, knuckles over on left hind, swelling of left thigh, small abrasions at lateral right hind and dorsal vulva, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities. Decreased anal tone with mucoid diarrhea leaking; Assessment: Left sided pelvic fractures – transverse fractures just caudal to acetabulum, oblique fracture through wing of ilium, pubic symphyis fracture; Plan: Administered hydromorphone 0.2ml IM, carprofen 0.45ml SQ and LRS 100ml SQ. Continue with rimadyl 12.5mg PO q12 x 5 days, hydromorphone 0.2ml IM q12 x 5 days. Will require surgical repair; Prognosis: Fair/good with appropriate treatment/care; SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to pelvic fractures
