05/18/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Are you yearning for a special someone to spoil? Feeling like you could use a little non-judgmental friendship? Still waiting for that debonair and handsome hunk to finally sweep you off your feet? Don’t fret, Charmin’ Armin is coming to the rescue! With soft manners, an affectionate heart, a perfect grasp of commands, great leash walking and house training skills, people friendly, dog friendly (he arrived with his equally lovely girl Cazilia — A1073323) and handsome as the day is long, I literally don’t have a bad word to say about him! Of course he aced his behavior assessment and the notes are peppered with words like soft, calm and relaxed–the calling cards of a wonderful pet patiently waiting for a new family to love. Armin’s got an eye for the ladies and a taste for treats (which he takes very gently), and while toys aren’t his thing, he loves getting out and about, sniffing around and meeting pups large and small in the street or the park. This good boy is so friendly, soft and comforting that I think my idea of heaven might be lying snug in the middle of an Armin-sofa sandwich! Imagine all the joy and love he could bring to your life…now make it a happy reality by welcoming beautiful Armin home today.
05/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Armin pulls a bit on the leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Armin followed the assessor at the end of the leash with a calm and relaxed body language when playing tag. He shows minimal interest with toys. Armin did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, ears back, wagging tail, open mouth. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Dog may smell or lick toy, then turn away. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Armin is mostly persistently sexually motivated. He briefly backs up when corrected by the female helper dog.
05/12/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Armin has mostly displayed sexually motivated behavior during off leash interaction. On occasion, he has engaged in play with intent to mount female dogs. While in our care, he has not yet been introduced to male dogs. He arrived into the care center with another dog as a stray, so in-home behaviors are unknown. The behavior department recommends a pre-adoptioninteraction for Armin to ensure compatability with a resident dog. When off leash with other dogs, Armin is mostly persistantly sexualyl motivated. He briefly backs up when corrected by the female helper dog. 5/18 update: Armin engages in play with females with the intent to mount. 5/19 update: Armin is mostly sexually motivated, but ceases when solicited with play.
