I am a male gray cane corso mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/06/2016 from NY 10454, owner surrender reason stated was TOO MANY P. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-056280.

05/06/16 14:21hrs Arkidius is described as friendly, playful and protective. He shared a home with at least three dogs from his litter. He lived with adults and a 2 year old child. Arkidius would allow the child to pet him, tug on him, rub his belly and put his hands in his mouth. Arkidius owner stated that he likes to play nip but has never bit anyone. Arkidius is the less dominant dog in the home and very playful with the other dogs in the home. Arkidius will bark at other dogs that he notices on the street, but will remain near his owner in one spot. He will chase after squirrels in the park. BEHAVIOR Arkidius will follow his owner around the home. Arkidius will rub his head against his owner’s lap for attention. His owner stated that he will allow his owner to touch him, approach him and remove food from his mouth. He is bathed with the hose in the backyard and he enjoys water. Arkidius will bark at every sound he notices coming from outside of the home. He is kept inside of his own crate when his owner is gone during the day. He shares a room with the other dogs. When the owner is approached by someone while walking all fours dogs, his owner commands the dogs to sit in order for the person to approach. His owner stated that if someone approaches without the dogs being commanded to sit and relax they may lunge and attack. FOR A NEW FAMILY Arkidius knows the commands numerically, 1-sit, 2-five, 3-jump, 4-lay down, 5-warning and 6-attack. Arkidius enjoys chewing on his toys, normally baseball bats and playing tag. He is walked 4x a day and often off the leash. He will spin in circles and bark when he needs to relieve himself. He will stay near his owner while off leash. Arkidius will react negatively when pictures are taken of him. He will bark and lunge after the person holding the object up. He is fed 6 cups of dry Blue Buffalo mixed with a raw chicken breast 3x a day. He enjoys snacks of apples and banana. He sleeps in his room or outside of his owner’s bedroom. DURING INTAKE While in the lobby, Arkidius along with the 3 other dogs, would bark when another dog approached them. While inside of the Admissions Office, they would growl whenever they heard a door open. He would walk around and sniff areas of the room. He would approach the Admissions Counselor and sniff. He accepted treats from the Admissions Counselors hands and responded to the command 1. He was collared by his owner but not photographed.

Arkidius was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was removed from his kennel he pulls hard on the leash Arkidius was uncomfortable with handling; he stands tall, and tries to look large. He wrinkles his muzzle while growling. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Arkidius was not interested in toys. He does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Arkidius was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Arkidius is described as friendly, playful and protective. He shared a home with at least three dogs from his litter. He lived with adults and a 2 year old child. Arkidius would allow the child to pet him, tug on him, rub his belly and put his hands in his mouth. Arkidius owner stated that he likes to play nip but has never bit anyone. Arkidius is the less dominant dog in the home and very playful with the other dogs in the home.
