12/27/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Perhaps named after the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, our Aretha is looking for her share of R E S P E C T! And she’ll get it, as she’s beyond gorgeous, so sweet, her coat shines with apparent good care, she seems to be housetrained, and pulls on the leash in her happiness at being out for a walk. A bouncy, happy, puppy-pulling…a happy pulling that makes you smile when you’re with her. Greeting other dogs we pass with a happy tail wag, Aretha preferred handler attention to that of other large dogs, until she’s introduced to smaller dogs and begins to solicit and engage in running play. How cute is that! Aretha can be a bit shy, warming up slowly for caresses, and while not actively soliciting them at first, accepts and enjoys them. Off leash, a little play time and then Aretha curls up semi under the bench (it’s lightly drizzling), in her best pretzel imitation for a little R & R. She’s still a puppy, and puppy’s need their naps! I loved sitting with her on the ground, watching her curling up, getting comfortable and sighing with the contentment of being petted while lying there. Still paying attention to her surroundings if things changed, Aretha relaxed under my hand. She’s breathtakingly gorgeous, and her soft, gentle and shy personality is perfect for someone who will give her the time and opportunity to relax and come out of her shell. Come meet her today.
