08/07/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: A big mush who loves to socialize, Archie (he’s far too silly to be an Archibald!) is definitely a first date to remember and I’m still chuckling over his goofy antics days later. After a shy debut at the Care Center, he’s found all four of his feet and is making ample use of them for enthusiastic walking, happy hugging and chasing after girls in playgroup like the mischievous cad he is. From top to toe, Archie’s blessed with stunning good looks and even without the barking that accompanies any sighting of another dog, he’s quite the head-turner on walks through the ‘hood. His smooshy face is all jowly smiles and sparkling eyes, his coat silky smooth and white as snow and a cute skinny wigglebutt brings up the rear, all adorned with a wagging tail that just won’t quit. Everything is a joy to Archie, from gently chewing plush toys to softly mouthing treats (after sitting first) to just hanging out with his people enjoying snuggles and he has an endless supply of funny reaction faces to show his appreciation for it all. If anyone is destined for Instagram stardom, it’s Archie! When he’s not happy with how slowly things are going (like meeting other dogs, receiving treats, being forced to pose for photos) he’ll let you know loud and clear but overall he’s a strong-yet-mellow hunk who just wants everyone to get along as well as he does. If you’re looking for a big lug to spoil with lots of treats, plenty of exercise and a lifetime of unconditional love then Archie is looking for you. Come meet the swoon-worthy dog of your daydreams today!

He will do best with daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially in the behavior outlined below) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful: The behavior department recommends allowing Archibald to approach his potential new adopters at her own pace. Force-free, reward based training is advised when introducing/exposing Archibald to new and unfamiliar situations. He would do best with a slow introduction, preferably with treats. Archibald should be spoken to softly and gently. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS: Archibald displays highly social behavior towards handlers, quickly warming up to everyone.
