12/31/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Sitting like a gentleman in his kennel watching as I unlatched his door, Antonio is easily leashed and like a bolt of lightening we head out the door. Whew! Had to go potty badly! He’s such a handsome fellow in his tan and white coat, his tail wags as we walk greeting everyone we meet. He pulls hard on the leash so a harness and some leash training will make it a more enjoyable walk for both ends of the leash. With a brief stop to pose for some pictures, Antonio proves himself to be a perfect and easy model, and his very slight hint of a pouty underlip makes me want to smooch his delicious face. Off leash he sits right away when he sees me reaching for a treat – how smart is he?! With a very large treat in hand Antonio hunkers down to spend time with it, slightly wagging his tail as he chews. So sweet. Playing with a toy he shakes it all about, throwing it around, pouncing on it and able to amuse himself in play. Antonio enjoys being pet, joining me on the bench for a petting session before jumping down again to investigate activity in the driveway. In group Antonio romps with abandon. Active, friendly, smart and handsome, Antonio is hoping his new person will walk in the door today. So are we!
