A volunteer writes: Annabelle is so pretty that she almost looks unreal, like created by a cartoonist’s wand…Caramel and vanilla are her colors. She is healthy , well dressed and so well groomed, beautifully cared for until her abandonment. Her eyes are most often puzzled and wide open. She is a seven month old pup, a little hound perched on long legs and a delight to spend time with… Annabelle is not always the most comfortable inside the care center. I thought at first that she did not know what a leash was.. I was completely wrong. She walks just fine, tail up and wagging in the street.. She has to be carried from her kennel to the yard or the street and hesitates to ambulate until she is let free in a pen…There , she slowly unwinds, perks up at the sight of her peers(big and small) and even , after a few walks with different volunteers, starts to run, jump, act silly like the pup she is and plays with a ball…. You should see her tail wagging…So, now, we know..Annabelle can have fun and is not the little mouse she made us believe she was… Youngsters are amazing..They can improve in a matter of just a few hours. Still, a shelter is not a place for a babe. A home sweet home, a safe haven, a loving master and a good teacher are what really will bring out the real and happy Annabelle. We are therefore waiting for you to come and meet Annabelle, work your magic and open for her, the door to your home and heart, the beginning of a most happy long and loving joint adventure. Annabelle is at the Manhattan Care Center.
