A volunteer writes: What an award winning smile! It did not come at once, but after a while spent together. Anja is known to be a friendly gal, but still, being relinquished to the Care Center at the mature age of 9 is pretty tough on her. She is a pretty Collie/Pittie/Lab mix who wags her tail in her kennel, her bright eyes all on me. Take me out, take me out. Anja is quite energetic, a great walker and likely housetrained, as related to us by her former owner. She can be a little stubborn at times and takes root with her four, refusing to follow the direction I choose: the privilege of the elderly. Anja is a bit lost. We understand. She was a precious and beloved pet for many years, one who was the loyal and loving shadow of her family, always by their side. She can sit on command and absolutely loves treats, comes when called, and poses her head in my lap for caresses, but only after a while spent together. Anja does not seem fond of other dogs, and will intensely bark at them. She seems the PERFECT pet for an adult household, and one without another pooch. There is an amazing match out there for every single one of our dogs and cats. Just come and meet Anja. She will be the love of your life.
