I came into the shelter as a agency on 21-Oct-2017.
Angel is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs.

Your newly adopted pet is underweight and the staff veterinarians are issuing a temporary waiver from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY. Follow up care at your regular veterinarian is recommended to ensure continued treatment. Your veterinarian will advise you if surgical sterilization is appropriate.

Summary (1):: Angel mostly keeps to herself when introduced to larger groups. She displays a soft body when she greets both male and female dogs. She becomes reactive with another dog that growls and hard barks at her. Angel came into the Care Center as a stray so her previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department recommends that Angel be placed in a home with resident dogs that match her calm demeanor. 10/22: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Angel greets a novel male dog with a soft body before wandering in the pen. When she is introduced to a female she is tolerant of the other female’s assertive body posturing. 10/24-28: In a group of calm dogs, Angel mostly keeps to herself, only greeting the other dogs when they are near. Angel defensively reacts towards another dog when he growls and hard barks at her through the gate. 10/29-10/31: Angel is hesitant to interact with other calm male and female dogs but is becoming more tolerant of their presence. She still will tuck herself up if she gets overwhelmed and hides behind handlers.
