Basic information
Amigo is a 12 year old neutered Poodle with no known medical conditions. Owner has had Amigo for 12 years and is surrendering because of a new baby.
Socialization and behavior
Amigo has lived with a child the age of one and was afraid of him. Amigo did not socialize with the child. Amigo has not lived with other dogs or cats. Amigo plays gently with adults. Around strangers Amigo is shy. Amigo isn’t bothered when having his food bowl touched or having toys and treats taken away. Amigo is use to getting bathes often and will let you wash him but is afraid of the water. During storms and fireworks amigo is calm. Amigo isn’t bothered when being pushed off furniture or held and restrained. When someone unfamiliar approaches the house Amigo is quiet and will sometimes greet them at the door.
For the new family to know
Amigo was described as friendly and shy with a low activity level. When home with Amigo he will follow you around seeking attention. Amigo enjoys playing with balls and chasing them. Amigo is house trained and wee wee pad trained. HE goes for walks evey 2 days and will pull lightly on the leash. Amigo has not been crate trained. Amigo is well behaved when lef tin the house alone. Amigo eats Beniful dry food and 1 egg with chicken every day.
Behavior during intake.
Amigo was calm and quiet during intake. HE allowed to be scanned and collared with no problem. Amigo enjoyed being pet and allowed all handling.
