A volunteer writes: Have you been looking for someone that will keep your floor free of crumbs? Someone to go jogging with? Someone to be there when you need a snuggle? Well you might just be looking for Hercs!! He has the most adorable Puss in Boots eyes and is awesome in every way. He isn’t bad on leash, seems housebroken, and will do just about anything to earn a treat (so far he’s got “sit” down pat). He’s very friendly and gets super excited to see friends in the hallways and immediately greets them with hugs. He has been very well-mannered with me but definitely knows how to let loose when it’s appropriate. He LOVES toys and bounds around like a small pony when I let him off leash. He’s such a good boy and just mentioning his name causes the eyes of staff and volunteers to light up. He would be so happy to meet you at Brooklyn ACC!

Another volunteer writes: I just spent all day at an adoption event with Hercs and he is a DREAM! So easy going! I watched him greet dozens of people, including children of all sizes, and was friendly and relaxed with them all. No surprise I guess– I heard he lived with 2 young children. He also met dogs of all sizes and was polite to the small ones, and wanted to play with the bigger ones. In fact, he had several play sessions with another adoptable dog there (also male and the same size) and was so adorable and puppy-like it’s hard to believe he’s 3 years old. He threw himself on his back and pawed and play-mouthed the other dog. And when the other dog stood directly on top of him pawing and mouthing, he didn’t mind at all- just kept on rolling around and having a grand old time. Hercs just has super disposition and would likely do well in almost any household. As long as it’s an active one! It was a hot day during the adoption event and Hercs was VERY mellow, but I’ve walked him at the shelter before and while he is pretty good on the leash, he is an energetic guy that will love some good exercise. And afterward he will love to lay by your side or sit in your lap and snuggle and be pet and loved. Come meet this amazing charmer before he’s snatched up!
