WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Alexis’ shelter picture picked my curiosity. I had to meet her. She looked like a very pretty and elegant dame while being way to skinny. Alexis was waiting at her door, like ready for me..Although we are feeding her more often, she seemed hungry and looked for kibbles on the floor…She loves treats but is not voracious for them..What a gentle female Alexis is… She was roped easily and off, at my pace , we went for a stroll around the block. She did her business in one stop and met uneventfully small and big dogs. Alexis did not mind me putting a scarf around her neck and to pose for pictures. She was quite hot despite a very short walk. This explains why so many dogs keep and open mouth and have their tongues out….A nightmare for the photographer…For the rest of our encounter, we went to rest in the staircase. It was much more to our like in the AC…Alexis feels so soft to the touch. I feel all her bones, though, right under my fingers. Her eyes are barely cloudy an her teeth are quite good. She enjoys caresses and to be talked to. She knows how to give delicate kisses in my neck. Alexis was surrendered to us as her master was not well enough to care anymore for a pet who would also have health issues. Sweet Alexis is looking for a new home and a new master. She is in need of TLC and most likely veterinary care. She is still young at five years of age and has plenty of love in her to make a new owner happy to have her as a forever best friend. Alexis is at the Manhattan Care Center.
