A volunteer writes: She’s tiny, she’s shy, and she’s visually impaired, but with a bit of coaxing she comes out for a short walk. Happy for some fresh air and a chance to go potty, she walks nicely (but carefully) on leash as I chat to her so that she can follow my voice. Alexandra flinches when touched which may be a result of not being able to see a hand coming, and while she then allows petting doesn’t seem quite comfortable with it at this time. It’s hard enough to adjust to a new environment but when impaired it’s even harder. Alexandra is doing the best she can, and we’re hoping this will be a short stay before moving on to a new home where love, safety and appropriate medical care is available. She’s adorable and deserves the best of everything.
