RECENT OWNER INFO:
Recent adopter came to the ACC with Alex a dog that he adopted a few hour ago. The owner stated that he has 2 shih-tzu and a labra-doodle at home and when he came to the home with Alex the other dogs became aggresive and would not let Alex enter the home. I counceled the owner about introducing them slowly on the leashes by circling around each other and letting them meet that way or introducing them to each other on neutral grounds like a park. The owner stated that Alex was not the problem and that Alex was calm and relaxed when the dogs were hard barking and growling at him.

05/24/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Alex has a perpetual puppy face and is like a puppy in many ways…but SO MUCH BETTER! He has a great sense of imagination and hidden talents brought out by his love of food. Where you and I might see a dingy, littered sidewalk, Alex sees a gourmet buffet! And if you’re walking behind someone eating a sandwich he’ll transform into a biped for the sake of getting a better whiff! Okay, so he might be a little food crazy, but that only means it’s super easy to get his undivided attention and that he’ll be that much easier to train (he already knows “sit”!). He seems housebroken, isn’t bad on leash, and has been social with other dog in our care. He LOVES toys and has the ability to turn off the world around him when he’s playing with one. He fetches, carries squeaky toys around the block, and even likes to play with the water from the hose. Cuddling is the last component of Alex’s favorite things (he’s an Eat, Play, Love kinda guy). He make lovey-dovey eye contact, nearly naps in my lap, and wags his tail at the smallest bit of attention. I think he’s super sweet and very special!! He hopes to meet you soon at Brooklyn ACC!
