Alex came to the care center as a stray so his behavior in a home is unknown. Upon intake, Alex was relaxed and allowed all handling. He did not pull for his relief walk. He appeared calm and social in the SAFER assessment room. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, body neutral. Alex leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, body soft. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, a bit distracted. Alex did not pull back his paw on both Squeeze attempts, sniffing and lightly licking assessor’s hand. He appeared interested in Toy, but never fully engaged in play. When off leash at the Care Center, Alex greets with a soft posture. He is tolerant of a dog with a higher level of energy than his and avoids interacting with her, and explores the yard. The Behavior Team feels Alex would do well with an Average adopter. Look: 2.
