06/21/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/21/16 20:37 Behavior during intake: This dog was pulling hard on the leash during intake. She was lose body throughout the process. She did not like the back drop. She would hop onto it and hop off. She allowed me to collar her with no issue. Basic information: Akita is a 7 year old, female, pit bull mix. Her former owner bought her from a friend when she was just a puppy. They surrendered her to MACC because they are moving into a very small apartment out of state and cannot take her. Akita was last seen by a doctor in November of 2016. Socialization: This dog is friendly to strangers almost right away. She has lived with children her whole life. The children in Akita’s former home ranged in age from new born to teen aged. She was always pretty relaxed and playful with kids. She is also very playful and exuberant with adults. Akita spent time with other smaller dogs. She always was relaxed and playful. She has never been around cats. She has never bitten another animal or person. Behavior history: Akita has destroyed some things in her home when she was left alone. During thunderstorms or fireworks Akita will hide and panic. She is generally a very friendly and easy going dog. If someone unfamiliar comes to her yard or house she will bark until she gets a chance to meet them. She is a very active dog and she loves to play. When her owner is home with her she likes to be close to them. Akita loves to chase her ball and play fetch. Akita has been kept primarily indoors. Her bed was kept in the kitchen and she LOVED to sleep in her bed. She pulls very hard on the leash during walks.
