Addidas
Hello, my name is Addidas. My animal id is #15805. I am a female brown dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old.
I came into the shelter as a aco impound on 09-Dec-2017.
Addidas is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Upper Respiratory Disease Complex and will likely require home rest and a series of antibiotics for up to 14 days. This is a contagious illness to other dogs. Addidas has been friendly and easy to handle in the care center.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: Oh my goodness, Addidas is the absolute sweetest, shy little angel. As soon as I walked into the room, I could hear her tail wagging so hard that it was banging on the walls. Once I had her on the leash, she walked like a dream, staying right next to me (and even a bit underfoot) at all times on our walks, she even likes to randomly sit down and look up at me, asking for pets and cuddles with her gentle little pleading eyes. When off-leash in the outdoor play area, Addidas doesn’t show much interest in chasing the ball, but she does follow me around and try to crawl into my lap for more cuddles. Come and meet this sweet, gentle, slightly shy girl today!

She is assertive with another female dog, and tenses her posture while offering her chin-overs. Addidas was brought in with 5 other large mixed breed dogs reported to have lived together, however no information about their behavior was provided. The Behavior Department recommends that Addidas be placed in a home with resident dogs that match her calm demeanor. 12/10: When off leash at the Care Center, Addidas very briefly greets the novel male dog with a nervous, tucked posture but mostly avoids further contact, and explores the yard. 12/11: Addidas was introduced to a novel female dog today. She initially was nervous, approaching with a low body but as the session continued, Addidas became slightly assertive. She tensed her body each time the other dog approached and chin-overed. 12/12: Addidas greets an anxious male with a wiggly body. She mostly explores the pens, showing little interest in the other dog.
